The filter press company D.R. Sperry & Company was founded in 1868 by Dorr Oliver Sperry in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. The company initially produced pumps and machinery for the pulp and paper industry but later became known for its filter presses, which it began manufacturing in the early 1900s.
