PCE and TCE Aerobic Cometabolic Pathways

Aerobic cometabolism of PCE and TCE using the proprietary blend of cultures in CL-Out has been successful at numerous field applications without a full understanding of the metabolic pathways.  Recent microcosm studies have shown that trichloro and dichloroacetic acids are transient intermediates in the degradation of PCE and TCE under aerobic conditions.  These intermediates suggest the cometabolic pathway by PCE and TCE epoxidation or a chloride shift for TCE.
