Patient Specific Implants

Bioverit - Glass Ceramics

We use the glass ceramics BIOVERIT II, which has been developed under the supervision of Prof. Vogel by the department of glass chemistry of the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena. This material consists of machinable glass ceramics of the SiO2-Al2O3-MgO-Na2O-K2O-F-system. BIOVERIT®II is an non-resorbable glass ceramic, which consists of a crystal phase (approx. 60%) with mainly Phlogopite–crystals, embedded in an alumosilicate glass matrix (approx. 40%).

3di - Model PEEK - Non-Resorbable High Performance Thermoplastic

PEEK was deverlop as non-resorbable high performance thermoplastic for the long-term implantation. Since 2008, 3di GmbH is producing patient specific implants for the cerebral and visceral cranium made of this material. PEEK is intraoperative machinable.

3di - Acrylate Hard Tissue Model

Materials: White Resin: methacrylate, white, suitable for  display objects, for unsterile surgery planning. High Temp: methacrylate, transparent,  steam sterilizable, suitable to take it into the sterile operating area.

Soft Tissue Models

3di - Skin Flap Soft Tissue Model

In cooperation with the university hospitals in Jena, Ulm and the company 3di GmbH a training model was developed for skin flap plastics in the face.

3di - Rhinoplasty Soft Tissue Model

The Department of Otorhinolaryngology of the Jena University Hospital, the Department of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology and Head and Neck Surgery of the Ulm University Medical Center, and the company 3di GmbH developed an artificial model of the human nose that permits surgical training of functional and aesthetic operations and surgical reconstructions in the area of the cartilaginous nose.

3di - Model Lip - Soft Tissue Model

The Department of Otorhinolaryngology of the Jena University Hospital, the Department of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology and Head and Neck Surgery of the Ulm University Medical Center, and the company 3di GmbH developed an artificial model of the human lips that permits surgical training of complex operations and surgical reconstructions in the area of the lips.

3di - Auricle Soft Tissue Model

In cooperation with the university hospitals in Jena, Ulm and the company 3di GmbH a training model for auricle plastics was developed.

3di - Individual Planning Soft Tissue Model

The Department of Otorhinolaryngology of the Jena University Hospital and the company 3di GmbH developed an individualised hard- and soft-tissue-model for simulation the surgical result.
