Our history

abberior GmbH was founded in 2011 by Prof. Stefan W. Hell, Dr. Vladimir Belov, Dr. Lars Kastrup and Dr. Gerald Donnert. The company is a spin-off from the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen. The company is based in the Laser Laboratorium Göttingen GmbH technology park located on the north campus of the University of Göttingen.

abberior Instruments GmbH was founded in 2012 by Gerald Donnert, Alexander Egner, Benjamin Harke, Prof. Stefan W. Hell, Lars Kastrup, Matthias Reuss and Andreas Schönle. The company is a spin-off from the Max Planck Institute of Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg. The companies’ headquarters are based in the Laser Laboratorium Göttingen located on the north campus of the University of Göttingen, Germany.
