The AltoStar® Automation System AM16 is a robotic pipetting workstation used for sample purification and PCR setup controlled by the AltoStar® Connect software. It is intended to be used in combination with the AltoStar® Purification Kit 1.5, the AltoStar® Internal Control 1.5 and altona Diagnostics PCR kits for automated purification of nucleic acids and automated assay setup for in vitro diagnostic purposes. The AltoStar® AM16 is intended for use by professional users trained in molecular biological techniques and the operation of the AltoStar® AM16 instrument.

AltoStar Detection completes the final part of the AltoStar Automation System AM 16 Workflow with two units of the  real-time PCR Cycler CFX96™ Deep Well Dx System (Bio-Rad). All other relevant hardware, like a fully equipped PC and handheld barcode scanner, are included. The CFX96™ Deep Well Dx System is CE-IVD marked, in compliance with the European Union diagnostic medical device manufacturing standards.

The AltoStar PCR kits are based on real-time PCR technology, utilizing polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for amplification of specified target sequences and target-specific probes in order to detect amplified DNA or RNA.

The AltoStar Purification Kit 1.5 uses magnetic particle technology and is intended to be used for automated isolation and purification of nucleic acids from specified human specimens for in vitro diagnostic purposes. It permits simultaneous purification of RNA and DNA from multiple sample types.

The FlexStar real-time PCR reagents contain primers and probes to perform the reliable detection of specific pathogens. The shared assay protocol enables a very quick PCR. Different assay configurations are available.

The FlexStar (RT-)PCR Amplification Mix 1.5 is a universal reagent to be combined with the Detection Mixes. The enzyme mix for real-time PCR has been especially developed for use with the different FlexStar® Detection Mixes targeting different pathogens.

All RealStar PCR reagents are designed for quantification/qualititative detection and/or differentiation of pathogen-specific RNA/DNA in human matrix/matrices. A heterologous amplification system (Internal Control) is included to identify possible PCR inhibition. Please note the regulatory status of our three different product groups (CE/RUO/ASR).
