Anika’s ophthalmic viscoelastic solutions are highly purified sodium hyaluronate viscoelastic for use in eye surgery including cataract extraction, intraocular lens implantation, corneal transplant surgery, glaucoma filtering surgery, and retina re-attachment. Anikavisc® is designed to create and maintain anterior chamber depth and visibility, and to protect corneal endothelial cells and other intraocular tissues. It helps minimize the interaction between tissues during surgical manipulation, and act as a vitreous substitute during retinal reattachment surgery. Additionally, it preserves tissue integrity and superb visibility when used to fill the anterior and posterior segments of the eye following open sky procedures.
