Arrow-Lok - Surgical Tips and Tricks
Commit to trying ARROW-LOK™ on at least five patients while closely following the recommended technique. As simple as the ARROW-LOK™ is and uncomplicated the operative technique may be, please expect to take at least five cases to become comfortable with the product, the operative technique and how the design interacts with the anatomy. Five (5) cases will give the surgeon the opportunity to experience the simplicity of the ARROW-LOK system on patients with varying bone quality and assorted anatomical variations.
Arrow-Lok - Digital Fusion System
1.6mm diameter stainless steel. Smooth trocar tip that creates a pilot hole without removing bone. 5mm graduations from the tip serve as a depth gauge for reamer insertion. Advancing the reamer may also provide the surgeon with an initial indication of the patient’s relative bone quality.
Arrow-Lok - Implant Technology
Design Rationale: In planning and research prior to design of the ARROW-LOK™ implant, the surgeon design team identified performance objectives for the new implant that would offer clinical advantages over current implant alternatives.
Arrow-Lok - Digital Fusion System
The ARROW-LOK implant features a three-dimensional arrow shape at each end joined by a solid shaft. The implants are available in multiple lengths and in 2 different angles. The implant is manufactured from stainless steel per ASTM F138.
Press-fit for 3.5mm Diameter Arrowhead
Inserted into the pilot hole created by the reamer, the broach forms a channel in the intramedullary canal that conforms to the shape of the 3-dimensional arrowhead tip of the ARROW-LOK implant. Conserves bone by compacting the cancellous bone of the phalanx to enhance the engagement of the ARROW-LOK implant’s arrowhead tip upon implantation. 2.7mm width creates 0.8mm of press-fit for the 3.5mm diameter arrowhead.
