The OctaMon Mini by Artinis is a wearable, 8-channel functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) device tailored for pediatric research. It is designed to facilitate the monitoring of brain activity during everyday activities, including exercise. The device's eight channels span the entire prefrontal cortex, enabling comprehensive measurement of changes in oxygenation, including oxy-, deoxy-, and total hemoglobin levels. It features an optode distance of 26 mm and comes with headband sizes suitable for children. The OctaMon Mini's non-invasive nature makes it ideal for dynamic environments commonly encountered in neuroscience and sports science research. It is important to note that Artinis NIRS products are solely intended for research purposes and are not classified as medical devices under the EU Medical Device Regulation (2017/745), meaning they are not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
