This is the synthetic form of the most spicy-hot substance known to man. Just a few ppm will make your product fiery hot. How hot? Look at this Scoville scale. Capsaicin
This is the most spicy-hot substance known to man. Capsaicin is the `gold-standard` for hotness. The tiniest amount will make your product fiery hot. How hot? Take a look at this Scoville scale to see the relative degrees of `hotness`. This is the substance that causes the burning feeling in the mouth or nose (any contact with mucous membranes) and it also increases secretion of gastric juice. Capsaicin comes in two forms – natural, which is made from hot peppers, and synthetic, which is produced in a laboratory. The efficacy of the two forms appears to be identical.
Trans-Capsaicin
Trans-capsaicin is truly the `gold-standard` for hotness. This highly refined product has few impurities and has been the preferred active for dermal patches and other medicinal uses. Many have reported that trans-capsaicin is more effective than the natural product or nonivamide.
