CovaCoat - Coating Technology

A highly versatile coating, CovaCoat is a photochemical process, that enables permanent covalent attachment of the coating to a wide variety of medical devices. Each formulation is specifically tailored to the device, and can be engineered to improve lubricity, hemocompatibility, infection prevention and controlled delivery of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).

Advanced Wound Care

Covalon ColActive - Model Plus - Collagen Matrix Dressing

ColActive® Plus is an advanced wound dressing made from collagen, sodium alginate, carboxylmethylcellulose (CMC), and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). ColActive® Plus is a topically applied wound dressing that will transform into a soft gel sheet when in contact with wound exudates. The dressing maintains a moist wound environment that aids in the formation of granulation tissue and epithelialization. The EDTA in the dressing removes zinc to inhibit the activity of matrix metalloproteinases (MMP), thus creating a suitable environment for wound healing.

Covalon ColActive - Model Plus Ag - Collagen Matrix Dressing with Silver

ColActive Plus is an advanced wound dressing made from collagen, sodium alginate, carboxylmethylcellulose (CMC), and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). ColActive Plus is a topically applied wound dressing that will transform into a soft gel sheet when in contact with wound exudates. The dressing maintains a moist wound environment that aids in the formation of granulation tissue and epithelialization. The EDTA in the dressing removes zinc to inhibit the activity of matrix metalloproteinases (MMP), thus creating a suitable environment for wound healing. ColActive Plus Ag contains ionic silver for broad spectrum antimicrobial activity.

ColActive Transfer - Wound Contact Layer

ColActive Transfer is pliable, absorbent, and biocompatible, and is designed to intimately contact the wound bed and protect it from secondary dressings (i.e. synthetic foam). ColActive® Transfer has low adherence, which helps minimize wound trauma at dressing changes.

Covalon CovaWound - Self-Adherent Soft Silicone Foam Dressing with Border

CovaWound™ Self-Adherent Soft Silicone Foam Dressing with Border is an advanced multi layered dressing designed to effectively absorb and manage exudate. Its silicone adhesive securely, but gently adheres to skin and will not cause epidermal stripping or pain upon removal.

Covalon CovaWound - Self-Adherent Soft Silicone Foam Dressing

CovaWound™ Self-Adherent Soft Silicone Foam Dressing is an atraumatic dressing that absorbs exudate, maintains a moist wound healing environment, and prevents epidermal stripping and/or pain upon removal.

Vascular Access

Covalon - Model IV Clear - Antimicrobial Clear Silicone Adhesive Securement Dressing with Chlorhexidine and Silver

IV Clear™ Antimicrobial Clear Silicone Adhesive Securement Dressing with Chlorhexidine and Silver is used to cover and
protect insertion sites, and secure devices to skin.

CovaClear - Model IV - Clear Silicone Adhesive Securement Dressing

CovaClear IV, the newest addition to Covalon’s vascular access portfolio, uses the same trusted silicone adhesive technology to protect patients from skin injuries and promote healing in patients who either don’t require, or cant tolerate, antimicrobials.

Covalon - Model IV - Transparent Dressing

CovaView IV is a thin film dressing designed to be cover and protect IV sites. Its polyurethane backing is breathable and maintains an effective barrier against viruses, bacteria, and other external contaminants.

Perioperative Care

MediClear - Model PreOp - Antimicrobial Self-Adherent Silicone Film Drape for Preoperative Skin with Chlorhexidine and Silver

MediClear™ PreOp consists of a clear polyurethane film coated with an antimicrobial silicone adhesive containing 3% w/w Chlorhexidine and 0.5% w/w Silver Salts and is intended to cover and protect skin (i.e. back, joints, abdomen) from the risk of contamination prior to an invasive procedure (i.e. incision or insertion). The chlorhexidine and silver contained in the adhesive provides continuous antimicrobial activity while the polyurethane barrier film acts as a protective patient covering to isolate a procedural site from microbial and other contamination.
