Bacteria Testing: Surface Samples

MRSA Culture

Isolation and identification of methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Samples are plated on non-selective, nutrient agar to cultivate viable bacteria. Bacterial isolates are screened for Staphylococcus aureus. Any suspect S. aureus colonies are further isolated and analyzed for antibiotic resistance to methicillin.
