The Italian manufacturing plant of Italfarmaco is located in the northern area of Milan. The building, rising on an area of approximately 16,000 m2 with multiple blocks of about 10,000 m2, is totally devoted to the manufacturing of injectable preparations and oral solid products.

Italfarmaco is a concrete reality in the Italian pharmaceutical industry; it has been active in pharmaceutical research and development areas.

The Pharmacovigilance system collects and studies adverse events (=noxious) which may be associated to a drug treatment, in order to assess their incidence. identify the cause-effect relationship with the use of the drug. identify any possible risk factors for the occurrence of such adverse events. identify possible means for the prevention of such adverse events.

Italfarmaco, which is characterized by the strong and constant commitment to research, allocates each year resources in favour of patient organizations to support research projects in collaboration with the scientific and academic institutions and institutes. Italfarmaco Group is active in the development of foreign markets since the 1990s; in fact, there is a strong drive towards internationalization of the Group both through authorizations or distribution and/or agency agreements, and by the establishment of controlled companies of its own in different territories. Today Italfarmaco is present in Chile, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Morocco, Norway, Peru, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Vietnam and USA.
