Clinical Research

iThera - High-Resolution OAI for Clinical Research

The RSOM Explorer C50 features a mobile cart system with a flexible mechanical arm for user-friendly detector positioning on the skin. Laser safety features such as a foot pedal interlock are integrated to fulfill key requirements of the clinical environment.

iThera - Optoacoustic Imaging Platform for Clinical Research

Based on our proven CE-marked MSOT Acuity Echo system further non-CE-certified, customized MSOT Acuity Echo research systems are available upon request to match your clinical research needs in optoacoustic imaging. iThera Medical has been providing optoacoustic systems for clinical research since 2014. Two product lines, the MSOT Acuity Echo and the RSOM Explorer C50 research system, enable researchers to perform a wide variety of clinical studies.

Preclinical Research

iThera - Mobile Cart System for Small Animal Imaging

The RSOM Explorer P50 consists of a compact mobile cart system with a light-tight imaging chamber including a live-view camera for experiment supervision and a heated animal bed with integrated anesthesia supply. While raster-scanning the field of view, a nanosecond pulsed 532 nm laser excites the tissue. The induced ultrasound signal is detected by a broadband transducer with 50 MHz center frequency.

iThera - Optoacoustic Imaging System

The inVision is the world’s first imaging system that incorporates transmission ultrasound computed tomography (TUCT). TUCT provides an accurate image of speed of sound in tissue and its change with disease, e.g. in the context of cancer or fibrosis, thereby enlarging the field of biomedical applications addressable using iThera Medical’s optoacoustic imaging systems. It provides complementary information from three modalities: optoacoustic tomography, reflection-mode ultrasound CT and transmission-mode ultrasound CT.  Coupled with unique features like a seamless 660-1,300 nm wavelength range and calibrated signal quantification, the inVision users will allow researchers to drive their applications into areas previously not possible.
