PathPlus - Polyclonal Rabbit anti-Human LTB4R2 / BLT2 Antibody (Cytoplasmic Domain, IHC)

LTB4R2 is a low-affinity receptor for leukotrienes including leukotriene B4. It mediates the chemotaxis of granulocytes and macrophages. The response is mediated via G-proteins that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. The rank order of affinities for the leukotrienes is LTB4 > 12-epi-LTB4 > LTB5 > LTB3. LTB4R2 has been found to be overexpressed in esophageal squamous cell cancer and may be involved in the early stages of carcinogenesis. In immunohistochemistry, LTB4R2 has membranous positivity in the spleen, thymus, tonsil, and lymph nodes, and is found on lymphocytes, macrophages, and potentially neutrophils.
