Disc diffusion is still the most popular method for determining bacterial antibiotic susceptibility in the treatment of infectious disease, as highlighted by the international standardised procedures e.g. EUCAST and CLSI. MASTDISCS® AST are available as an extensive range of antibiotic susceptibility test discs presented in dispensing cartridges or glass vials. Manufactured and QC tested in accordance with the accepted limits and clinical standards required for the various national controls, MASTDISCS® AST are suitable for antibiotic susceptibility testing in laboratories worldwide.

The MAST URI®DOT uses multipoint technology to simultaneously inoculate up to 96 specimens in a single step. Traditionally, inoculation of multiple specimens onto agar plates for identification and antibiotic sensitivity testing can be a laborious, costly and time consuming task. MAST URI®DOT streamlines this process. When used with MAST URI®PLATES, the MAST URI®DOT multipoint inoculator enables both antibiotic susceptibility and bacterial identification to be performed directly from the urine sample. The MAST URI®DOT is adaptable and can also be used independently of the MAST URI®SYSTEM for inoculating standard agar petri dishes. Additional accessories are available for multiple inoculation of 19, 36 and 96 samples with choice of inoculum volume – 1.6mm or 2.4mm depending on standard methodology used within the laboratory.
