Introduction
Incidence of caesarean section performed at full dilatation is increasing. Delivery can be technically challenging and associated with increased maternal and neonatal morbidity. The objectives of this study were to evaluate local caesarean section rate at full dilatation, assess the indications, review the maternal and neonatal morbidity and identify any training issues.

Background
Episcissors-60 ® are fixed angle surgical scissors used for episiotomy during childbirth. They are designed to take away human error in estimating episiotomy angles and achieve a mediolateral cut at 60° to the perineal midline, hence minimising the risk of obstetric anal sphincter muscle injuries (OASIS) which requires surgical correction.` Initial results after the introduction of Episcissors-60 show that the majority of health care professionals a

Aim: To assess whether the introduction of episiotomy scissors specially designed to achieve a cutting angle of 60°, EPISCISSORS-60®, in two hospitals in the UK would result in a reduction in obstetric anal sphincter injuries (OASIS) in nulliparous women.
Methods: A structured training program for all doctors and midwives provided a theoretical framework around OASIS including risk factors and the role of episiotomies and a practical h
