The Obalon Balloon System is intended for adults with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 to 40 kg/m2 willing to follow a diet and exercise program. All Obalon balloons must be removed in 6 months. Patients with prior weight-loss surgeries are not eligible. The most common side effects reported were mild abdominal pain and nausea which typically resolved within two weeks. You must take daily acid-blocking medicine prescribed by your doctor.

The ReShape Lap-Band® 2.0 FLEX is an advanced gastric band system designed for weight loss in obese patients. It features a next-generation FLEX Tubing System that modulates intra-band pressure to improve the eating experience. The system acts as a reservoir that can expand to temporarily dilate the band stoma, facilitating food passage and reducing complications such as reflux, food obstruction, regurgitation, vomiting, and discomfort. After the food passes, the reservoir contracts to restore band pressure while maintaining satiety.
