The telemedicine system VIMED DOC is a professional workstation for both telemedicine centers, as well as, hospitals. In comparison with the workstations one or two monitors VIMED^® DOC provides a fatigue-free work environment for prolonged periods, thanks to the fully ergonomic design. The design and lay-out allows one person to deliver a high volume of medical data consistently and effeciently. The system was designed together with practicing physicians and developed in accordance to their specific instructions for telemedicine centers. We therefore recommend the VIMED DOC especially for the use in teleradiology, teleneurology, telecardiology and teleoncology. Furthermore the general concept provides a solution in other interdisciplinary fields of medicine. Regarding this fact, the telemedicine system represents an important hub for interdisciplinary cooperation of medical professionals, both nationally and internationally.

It is ergonomically designed fulfilling the different needs of daily medical care. The preferred field of the application is emergency healthcare. The design and construction emphasizes the high stability and maximum reliability the overall system, with maximum attention given to security. The integrated Wi-Fi-and battery modules allow full mobility within different clinical environments.

The STEMO concept is developed for optimization of the prehospital stroke care. It shows clear advantages over the standard channel of supply, under conditions of the real rescue operation. VIMED^® STEMO is a specially equipped emergency vehicle with comprehensive telemedicine and medical equipment. The full diagnostic and therapeutic measures for acute stroke patients can be immediately initiated locally. For this purpose the STEMO vehicle is equipped with a mobile computer tomography (CT). All examination measures with the CT-scanner and the patient transport to the next stroke unit happens directly (compared to the other concepts) in the STEMO-emergency vehicle.

An ambulance as rolling, prehospital telemedicine platform with advanced diagnostic possibilities. IMED TELEAMBULANCE offers with special telemedical equipment and completely IT-integrated POC-, laboratory- and diagnostic-systems for an advanced spectrum of acute life-threatening and especially time-sensitive diseases, such as cardiac infarction or stroke. The extensive setting with Point-of-Care diagnostic-systems and the application of telemedical communication / data transmission offer enhanced diagnostic options, allow application of specific medical expertise for diagnosis and thus enable a prompt treatment initiation. The systematic choice of a hospital as well as preliminary information of specialists or the targeted hospital, allow already in advance a medically reasonable and resource-efficient patient management. Additional inter-hospital transfers and their resulting costs can be avoided.

There exists a widespread rendezvous system in Germany which proposes a coordinated cooperation between paramedics and emergency doctors in case of emergency. However, the emergency doctors can also be late on site, e.g. due to heavy traffic, distance to the operation site, especially in the rural areas, and/or by the occurrence of several emergency cases at the same time. Actually the time to provision care is regulated by law at the Federal State level differently.
