New England Tubing - Multi-Lumen Tubing

In simple terms, a lumen is the inside space of a tubular structure. In tubing, lumen are often used for air or fluid evacuation or delivery, or to provide separate access ports for other devices like surgical scissors, stents, or cameras.

eTubing - Hybrid Tubing

Combining our parent company, New England Wire Technologies, custom cable manufacturing expertise with our extruded tubing capabilities, we can customize your tube with added elements such as ultra-miniature coaxial cables, high frequency cables, thermocouples, and high strength/high flex alloys to provide more functionality in the same tubular cross-section – critical for today’s minimally invasive surgeries. Our eTubing® designs can add analog and digital transmission of electrical signals for sensor capabilities, powering devices, and temperature/oxygen monitoring features by incorporating these customized wires or cables within the wall of the tube itself.

New England Tubing - Custom Braid Reinforced Medical Tubing

New England Tubing effectively utilizes its in-house technical staff and years of experience to assist our customers from product development to the finished product. With our extensive background in the manufacturing of braided tubing for medical devices, New England Tubing is the industry leader in custom braid reinforced tubing. We are able to produce single and multi-lumen reinforced tubing designed to meet your specification. Our team has experience with many different braid materials and types ranging from round and flat stainless steel alloys to high strength monofilament polymers. You provide us with the important characteristics (torque, flexibility, etc.) of your tube, and utilizing our years of experience and accrued knowledge of braid materials and configurations, we will recommend a suitable braid design.

New England Tubing - Spiral Reinforced Tubing for Medical Applications

New England Tubing Technologies specializes in spiral reinforced tubing designed to augment hoop strength and modify flex characteristics, making it suitable for a range of applications, including medical. Our state-of-the-art, PLC controlled high-speed spiral winders are engineered to efficiently handle various sizes and types of tubing. We produced miniature tubing, as small as 0.66 mm, used predominantly in neurological applications, to larger diameters up to 9.0 mm for use in endoscopic devices aimed at gastrological procedures. Our capability to vary the spiral density throughout the tubing length allows customized flexibility features, catering to specific client requirements. Materials employed in the reinforcement include an assortment of round and flat stainless steel alloys, copper and its alloys, nitinol, and high-strength monofilament polymers. The advanced engineering also allows the integration of longitudinal members, further enhancing tensile and elongation attributes.

New England Tubing - Multi-Durometer Tubing

New England Tubing’s assembly abilities coupled with our comprehensive extrusion capabilities enable the delivery of reinforced multi-durometer custom products. Producing tubes with multi-durometer sections and the addition of stainless steel braids or spiral reinforcements allows for varied kink resistance, flexibility and torque response over the length of one piece.  The proximal section of the tube can be made of a harder plastic to help with insertion and positioning, while a more flexible distal section will allow the tube to better navigate challenging paths within the human anatomy. This innovative process accompanied with braid reinforcement can produce a tube that has a stiff body section and a more flexible distal section while still maintaining important physical characteristics like torque transmission, kink resistance, and hoop strength.
