Pedia•SAL is a new collection kit designed with the most fragile patients in mind: infants. In their first days in the world it is key to identify the healthiness of the infant, however there is little or no way to collect a sample in non-invasive fashion that does not cause the child trauma. The Pedia•SAL is a different type of collector altogether, integrating a passive collection process with soother design to not only collect but also relax the infant. A trained individual can then take the harvested saliva sample to a number of downstream processes that look for DNA, RNA, proteins, and other components which may be of interest.

Pure•SAL was developed for the controlled and standardized collection of RNA or protein biomarkers from oral fluid specimens for subsequent stabilization and analysis in life science and research applications. The Pure•SAL Oral Specimen Collection Kit provides a simple non-invasive and rapid platform for isolating “liquid biopsy” specimens including cell free DNA, cell free RNA, exosomes, or proteins in a single step. The harvested, purified saliva specimen is stabilized if required and available for downstream PCR, genotyping, sequencing, proteomics and other applications, depending upon the desired results.

RNAPro•SAL was developed as an easy to use and cost effective tool for the split sample collection of rich sources of RNA miRNA, mRNA and proteins  found in saliva. The proprietary RNAPro•SAL kit provides two equivalent samples of saliva which total 1.0 mL of saliva in 1-3 minutes. These may be analyzed later for either RNA or protein components. A unique built in Sample Volume Adequacy Indicator [SVAI] provides a visual indication that an adequate quantity of sample has been collected for downstream analysis.

SimplOFy™ is a new kit for the standardized collection of 2.0 mL of whole saliva in the simplest way possible. The sample is immediately preserved by a dried stabilizing solution coated to the inside of the tube cap, which stabilizes DNA upon contact. The 12 x 75 mm tube is directly amenable to automation, so throughput can be high for extraction and subsequent analysis. Stability testing on the sample collected and stabilized in the SimplOFy™ Saliva Collection Kit is ongoing, but data shows a minimum of ten months shelf life on the collected specimen, providing peace of mind that after collection the integrity of the DNA in the sample is preserved for long periods of time.

The Super•SAL™ Saliva Collection Kit works by collection of saliva from the pool of saliva that collects in the mouth by means of a highly absorbent cylindrical-shaped pad. The Super•SAL™ is intended as a high volume saliva collector [> 1.0 mL] providing a “clean” saliva specimen in approximately 1-3 minutes. The kit has a sample volume adequacy indicator that provides an indication of when sufficient saliva has been collected. Once the sample volume adequacy indicator changes from yellow to blue showing sufficient sample has been collected saliva is separated by compressing the absorbent pad used to collect the sample through a compression chamber into a standard 2mL Eppendorf tube or 1.5 mL microfuge tube. The sample may be used immediately, stabilized for later analysis or sent to a laboratory for subsequent analysis.

The Micro•SAL™ Small Animal Saliva Collection Device is intended for the controlled, standardized collection and  transportation of oral fluid (saliva) specimens from small animals for subsequent testing, analysis, or research applications. The devices do not provide any diagnosis of disease. Despite the availability of a number of available oral fluid collection devices, there are few that offer standardized saliva collection that are suitable for collection of non-invasive samples from small animals. The Micro•SAL™ Saliva Collection Device provides a rapid method for large volume sampling of oral fluids/whole saliva from small animals for a variety of applications.

The Micro•SAL™ for Children Saliva Collection Kit is an excellent kit for the collection of saliva samples from younger children who may be too old to use the Pedia•SAL™ Infant Salivary Collection Kit. A reduced size collector has a small soft pad which wicks up saliva from the mouth, collecting up to a maximum of 500 µl of saliva. The sample delivered by the Micro•SAL™ for Children Saliva Collection Kit is comparable to samples provided by the Super•SAL™ Universal Saliva Collection Kit, making it an ideal sample for a range of applications.

DNA•SAL™ is a revolutionary salivary DNA collection kit used for the collection of DNA from saliva. The device abrades cells and saliva in the mouth via a series of serrated edges resulting in the accumulation of a mixture of oral fluids (saliva) and cells that are trapped in an array of voids on the plastic body of the DNA•SAL™ device. The DNA•SAL™ is removed from the mouth and held while a small quantity of a safe rinse solution is taken, “swished” around in the mouth for a few seconds, then transferred by spitting back into the original sample tube. The collection head of the DNA•SAL™ tool is then detached from the handle into the transport tube containing the sample and rinse solution then immediately processed or sent to a laboratory where pure DNA can be extracted.
