Oncodisc - Intelligent Implantable Vascular Access Device

The Oncodisc device is an intelligent implantable vascular access device embedded with advanced sensor and communication technology. In addition to delivery of pharmaceutical therapy, the device reliably and accurately monitors patient physiology for early detection of illness or treatment-related complications.

PAVmed CarpX - Carpal Tunnel Device

CarpX* is a minimally invasive device designed to treat carpal tunnel syndrome, allowing the physician to relieve the compression of the median nerve without a traditional surgical incision. CarpX incorporates a balloon catheter with bipolar radio-frequency cutting electrodes. The device is advanced over a wire and positioned in the carpal tunnel under ultrasonic guidance. When activated, it creates space within the tunnel, confirming that the nerve is protected from the cutting electrode and decompressing the median nerve by dividing the transverse carpal ligament. We believe CarpX will have the potential to decrease costs by shifting the procedure from the operating room to a less expensive setting, reduce postoperative pain, accelerate the patient’s return to full activity, and lower the threshold for intervention for patients “suffering in silence” who chose to delay surgery until symptoms become debilitating.

PAVmed DISAPPEAR - Antimicrobial Resorbable Ear Tubes

In 2016, we entered into a licensing agreement with a group of leading academic institutions, which provided us with an exclusive worldwide license to develop and commercialize antimicrobial resorbable ear tubes based on a proprietary aqueous silk technology conceived and developed at these institutions. We believe DisappEAR* ear tubes will eliminate the need for a second general anesthesia procedure to remove retained or dislodged tubes in most patients. In addition, it’s antimicrobial quality will eliminate the difficult-to-administer post-procedure antibiotic ear drop regimen.

PAVmed EsoCheck - Cell Collection Device

A non-invasive five-minute office-based procedure to collect cells from the esophagus. EsoCheck is a cell collection device that is designed to collect cells of a targeted region of the esophagus without the need for endoscopy. The sampled cells can then be subjected to any commercially available diagnostic test.

PAVmed PORTIO - Implantable Intraosseous Vascular Access Device

The intraosseous route provides a means for infusing fluids, medications, and other substances directly into the bone marrow cavity which communicates with the central venous circulation via nutrient and emissary veins. This route, which has been used for decades, is well established and has been shown to bioequivalent to the intravenous route. PortIO is a novel, implantable, intraosseous vascular access device, which, unlike existing long-term vascular access devices, does not have a component residing in a vein. It is designed to be highly resistant to occlusion and, we believe, may not require regular flushes or radiologic confirmation. It can be inserted and removed without the need for surgical dissection and provides a limitless number of potential access sites in chronically ill patients have poor or no central venous access. We believe PortIO will have the potential to decrease costs by shifting the procedure to a less expensive office or bedside setting.
