WMP along with its licensee Promaxo bring a compact electropermanent MRI system to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Is it odd for a medical device design company to go to CES? You bet it is! Look for us in the NSF-sponsored Eureka Park!
December 19, 2016: In collaboration with researchers at the University of Maryland, WMP presented a poster at the Brain Initiative Investigator Conference in North Bethesda, MD, entitled “Wireless Current Detection Using a Spin-Transfer Nano-Oscillator by Near-Field Induction.” This class of particles shows strong promise as a neuromodulator and brain-readout particle that can be guided and activated by WMP-designed image-guided therapy systems. A companion publication was accepte
December 13, 2016: WMP licensee Promaxo completed ~$1M in investment for development and commercialization of an office-based pelvic MRI system using technology licensed from WMP.
November 1, 2016: WMP spin-off (and licensee) Tesoro Imaging Srl and its collaborators won a $2M European grant to examine the role of WMP-designed ultra-high resolution MRI systems in selectively replacing excisional biopsies.
October 10, 2016: Publication accepted by the Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials on biofilm disruption with rotating micro-rods, in order to enhance efficacy of antibiotics (under image-guidance of WMP-designed systems). Biofilms have been implicated in many difficult-to-treat diseases, including chronic sinusitis and pressure ulcers.
