Kinetic imaging consists of data acquisition and analysis obtained from X-ray image series. The new digital variance angiography (DVA) represents contrast medium motion inside the patient.

Kinepict’s DVA technology has at least 3 fundamental and unique benefits, addressing clear unmet medical needs: DVA drastically enhances the quality of the images (3-10 times higher signal-to-noise ratio) and using this quality reserve reduces the x-ray exposure by at least 70% and ICM dose by at least 50% in angiographic interventions.

70% X-RAY DOSE REDUCTION

Our completed clinical study shows that DVA allows a very substantial (70%) reduction of DSA related radiation exposure in lower limb interventions, therefore this technology increases the safety of the endovascular procedures. This provides very significant radiation protection not only for the patients but also for the medical staff. The clinical results are under publication

50 % ICM DOSE REDUCTION

Our completed clinical study indicates that the quality reserve provided by our technology can be effectively converted to significant contrast media (50%) reduction in carotid angiography. This brings significant economical and health benefits - less adverse events, contrast induced nephropathy - to the patients and cost saving for the cath labs. The clinical results are under publication.

INCREASED DIAGNOSTIC INSIGHT AND CO2 ANGIOGRAPHY

Our first clinical study (Gyano et al, 2019) published in the Radiology, the leading journal of the field, proved that DVA visualizes the same structures as DSA but offers dramatically better image quality. Our second clinical study (Orias et al, 2019) indicated that DVA significantly improves the image quality of angiograms also in CO2 angiography. This has a special significance since the use of CO2 as a contrast agent is the only possibility to treat patients with severe kidney injury, however, the use of CO2 often results in lower image quality. Our first real-time clinical study (Gyano et al, 2020) showed that the image quality was improved at a lower frame rate (1–3 fps) than the generally recommended 4–6 fps, which provides an opportunity for substantial radiation exposure reduction in CO2 angiography.

The technology is available (CE and FDA cleared) for clinicians to build an exceptionally powerful angiography suite.

OUR PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PROCESSES

Kinetic imaging can visualize blood vessel structures by detecting the movement of the iodinated or CO2 contrast medium bolus. The advanced statistical data analysis yields better image quality than DSA. Replacing DSA with kinetic imaging obtains better image quality, reduced contrast agent amount or X-ray dose.
