OPERON AND THE CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSABILITY

In 2016, we committed ourselves to give shape, in a visible manner, to all the CSR actions that had been carried out in our labor practices for many years, through our adherence to the Aragón Social Responsibility Plan. This plan began at the end of 2015, with the aim of promoting the Corporate Social Responsibility among companies, self-employed workers and public and private organizations of the Autonomous Community of Aragon.

For us, this adherence to the plan was an opportunity to make an in-depth analysis of our labor practices, focusing on achieving a coherent CSR policy translated into different measures for our stakeholders, as well as establishing new Corporate Social Responsibility strategies aimed to have a positive impact on our environment and society in general.

Since then, we have been renewing the RSA seal every year, through the development of several Corporate Social Responsibility reports, which reflect the milestones achieved and future commitments. Currently, we have five RSA seals from this plan.

OPERON AND THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was approved by the UN Member States at the World Summit for Sustainable Development in 2015. In order to eradicate poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all people, 17 goals, 169 targets, and a political statement were established.

In September 2019, the agreement “The Companies of Aragon and the SDGs: Global Goals, Local Business” was signed with the Spanish Network of the United Nations Global Compact, with the aim of implementing the SDGs, all with the support of the Commissioner for the Agenda 2030. At OPERON, we are working on identifying these objectives as a company that has always been committed to many of them.

OPERON AND CSR IN TIMES OF A GLOBAL PANDEMIC

The onset and rapid spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus made everyone hold their breath. The first months of the pandemic were especially hard, particularly for the most vulnerable groups. These groups were those that OPERON came to at first, facilitating PCR tests and thus allowing those affected and their caregivers to implement urgent protocols and somehow avoid what was unstoppable at that time.

Obviously, all these actions would not have been possible without the help and commitment of all of us. During those uncertain first months, OPERON continued to work vigorously, in order to find diagnostic solutions for this virus. In our “remarkable contributions campaign” we made visible many colleagues who in turn represented their departments and whose work deserved to be publicly recognized.
