CCL17, also known as TARC, is constitutively expressed in the thymus and can be upregulated in peripheral blood mononuclear cells. CCL17 is a ligand for the G protein coupled receptors CCR4 and CCR8, and induces chemotactic migration for T lymphocytes, but not monocytes or granulocytes.
