Therapeutic hypothermia, TTM, is a patient condition induced by the TrueCool cooling system using non-invasive pads and blankets. Hypothermia involves the controlled lowering of body temperature to alleviate secondary organ damage that occurs after the initial injury. Clinicians have been increasingly using therapeutic hypothermia to prevent or ameliorate various types of neurological injury and more recently for some forms of cardiac injury.
