Founded in Oxford in 1952, Owen Mumford has grown from a small, family-run business to a global medical device innovator. With every new product created we aim to improve the delivery of healthcare and home health treatments for people around the world.

Over the years we have worked closely with patients and healthcare professionals to understand how they use medical devices, the risks they face, their frustrations and their preferences. This understanding of our end users allows us to design and advance future products that will increase the ease, comfort and adherence to the administration of medication. Continuous product testing and regular, stringent auditing means we quality check hundreds of million finished devices every year. This in-depth knowledge of the devices we produce and their strengths and weaknesses allows us to continually advance and innovate our device offering.

Leveraging experience to drive innovation

Our innovation is driven by user insights and the results of our experience in manufacturing injector devices and surgical needles. Our time spent working closely with healthcare professionals and caregivers has helped us to understand the risk of complications that are associated with these kinds of medical devices and drives the next generation of products. Some of our many products that have set the benchmark high in innovative design include Unifine^{^®} Pentips^{^®} Plus - the world’s first integrated pen needle system with needle removal chamber, Autolet^{^®} – the world’s first automatic lancing device, Ateria^{^®} SafeControl^{^®} – an active safety pen needle that balances safety and control and UniSafe^{^®} – a springless, passive safety device for pre-filled syringes.
