Description:Palivizumab (MEDI 493) is a humanized monoclonal antibody against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Palivizumab can bind to RSV F protein with a Kd value of 1.4 nM. Palivizumab can prevent respiratory syncytial virus infection in cotton mice.
In Vitro:Palivizumab has RSV neutralizing activity and an EC50 value of 0.95850 nM with IgG1 protein[2].
In Vivo:Palivizumab (0.625-5 mg/kg (i.m.) or 0.312-10 mg/kg (i.v.); single dose) can prevent respiratory syncytial virus infection in cotton mice[1]. Palivizumab (0.05 mg/kg; single dose; intranasally administered)can prevent RSV infection in mice[2]. Palivizumab (15 mg/kg; single dose; s.c.) can inhibit RSV induced airway neurogenic inflammation in rats[3].
