ACHIRA - ACIX Platform of Care Diagnostic
The ACIX platform developed by Achira represents a significant advancement in point of care diagnostics. Utilizing microfluidics, it integrates a plastic disposable cartridge with dry reagents and a portable reader to deliver laboratory-standard results efficiently. This platform is versatile, capable of processing serum and whole blood samples with a rapid turnaround time of approximately 30 minutes. It minimizes infrastructure and manpower needs, making it particularly suited for under-resourced diagnostic settings. The high sensitivity of the proprietary sensor technology facilitates precise immunoassays, detecting hormone levels and infectious disease markers with great accuracy, comparable to traditional chemiluminescence methods. Achira has also ensured the platform supports a wide dynamic range, catering to both high and low signal assays. Founded in 2009, the company has a strong foundation in microfluidics and assay development, operating from Bangalore, India.
Our next generation ACIX platform is capable of accommodating different sample types (serum and whole blood). ACIX’s rapid turn-around time of ~30 mins, low costs combined with minimal infrastructure and manpower requirements make it suitable for low resource settings that are under-served by diagnostics labs. ACIX has been clinically validated for TSH. Currently, a large menu of tests, including various hormone tests and infectious diseases panels, are under development. ACIX is intended for fast and accurate results in lab settings.
