Sustainability

Sustainability is “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

The chemical industry has a major impact on the environment. Biosynth consistently pursues sustainable approaches and plays an active role in the efforts to establish sustainable production standards. Suppliers must also be involved in the development of sustainable products and services. We do all that is needed to treat the environment with care and protect it where we are able to do so. We strive to increase energy efficiency and to optimise the consumption of resources.

We are committed to sustainability and giving back to the planet as it gives to us. We work hard to be more sustainable by:

Reducing the amount of waste we produce
Using eco-friendly and recyclable packaging
Having fully renewable energy contracts in place and reducing consumption

We have a number of other initiatives. We like to share some of these initiatives in celebrating awareness days.

We know that standards, international regulations and customer expectations are constantly evolving, and we need to have continuous improvement and participate in regular sustainability checks (See Ecovadis Rating). Biosynth is committed to further sustainability in all facets of the organization.

Ecovadis Rating

We are proud to work with EcoVadis and received a Bronze Award Rating in Sustainability in June 2023. We know how important it is for our customers to have a secure and sustainable supply chain and are happy to be honored with this award for Sustainability in our organization. Biosynth joined the EcoVadis platform in 2015. EcoVadis Scorecard provides an independent assessment of our company’s sustainability management system performance.

Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility

Biosynth is committed to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), giving back to the world as it gives to us on a local and global level. Our CSR policy aims to embed a culture of working ethically and responsibly - with considerations for social, economic and environmental impacts of what we do as a business. We operate around four pillars - Environment, Culture, Community and Scientific Futures and encourage initiatives around all of these aspects across our sites.

We regularly report on activities that we are doing across our global sites that support out CSR pillars, to ensure we are demonstrating our commitments.

Code of Conduct

Our code of conduct is to demonstrate our commitment to ensuring everything is measured against the highest standards of ethical business conduct and that we are respectful, open and honest. We expect all of our employees and Board members to know and uphold our values and guidelines in the code.

Supplier Code of Conduct

We also provide a code of conduct for our suppliers. This is to help build and maintain Biosynth`s relationship with vendors in clear terms.
