SizewiseModel Immerse -Full-Body Therapeutic Mattress System

SHARE

Immerse™ is a full-body therapeutic mattress system that provides active pressure redistribution when mobility, moisture, and/or inactivity are a concern. It is indicated for the prevention and treatment of pressure injuries/ulcers, including post-operative care of pressure injuries and flaps/grafts. Immersion mode promotes proper envelopment to effectively manage the patient microclimate, while pulsation mode adds gentle stimulation that helps increase capillary bloodflow to the skin.

Immersion Therapy
The greater the immersion and envelopment into a support surface, the more contact area between the body and the surface. This allows for lower interface pressure and creates greater pressure redistribution.

Immerse™ is designed with smart pressure sensors to regulate the airflow interface 7x per second—maintaining the ideal immersion setting and optimal pressure redistribution at all times.

Alternative to Air Fluidized Therapy
Air fluidized therapy (AFT) beds are loud, hot, costly, difficult to clean, hard to move, and limit patient mobility and caregiver accessibility. Sizewise designed Immerse® with these complications in mind—creating a product that both mitigates the negative features of AFT while increasing patient satisfaction. Immerse is clinically effective for a range of patients, including those at risk for pressure injuries and post-operative reconstruction.

Temperature Control
Air fluidized beds produce a tremendous amount of heat while in use, most averaging between 88° to 94° F. This causes evaporative water loss through the skin, causing patient dehydration. Immerse™ was designed with low air loss therapy—micro holes in the air cells continually blow out air via the powered blower unit. As a result, moisture is wicked away and the patient stays dry and cool for improved microclimate management. Diverse Patient Populations
Most air fluidized beds only provide therapy in the lower 2/3 of the bed, not addressing therapy to a critical upper third of the body. Immerse™ was designed to provide head-to-heel therapy. In addition, Immerse can accommodate patients of all sizes—the mattress is available in multiple widths and capacity up to 1,000 lb.

Pulsation Mode
When Immersion mode is not needed, Immerse™ can be set to pulsation therapy mode. Pulsation mode adds gentle stimulation that aids in the increase of capillary blood flow to the skin. This, in turn, supplies greater oxygen and nutrients to the tissue for improved skin integrity.

Top Cover
Immerse is designed with an advanced nylon denier-polyurethane coated top cover that is vapor permeable, low friction, and anti-shear for improved pressure injury prevention. For additional pressure relief, the fowler feature increases airflow to the sacrum area of the body when the head section of the bed is elevated, ensuring optimal pressure redistribution at all times.

Noise Reduction
Our immersion therapy support surface is controlled by a blower unit at the end of the bed. The blower unit is designed with noise reduction technology for improved sound control and patient satisfaction.

Usability
Air fluidized beds are cumbersome: a challenge to maneuver, clean, and access patients. Immerse fits most hospital bed frames—allowing for ease of transportation, cleaning, patient mobility, and caregiver accessibility.

Cost
While a hospital’s priority is patient care, expenses are still a factor. Immerse™ usually has a lower rental and purchase cost when compared to air fluidized therapy—while also providing clinically effective results.
