Force Dimension - Model Lambda.7 - Haptic Device for Surgical Robot Integration
The Lambda.7 is the latest haptic device from Force Dimension, designed specifically for OEM applications, such as integration in surgical consoles. This device offers seven active degrees of freedom, including a new wrist configuration with three active degrees, which enhances its compatibility with surgical robot systems. Its unique kinematics structure and superior mechanical stiffness allow for rendering high contact forces at a rate of up to 4 KHz, ensuring precise and repeatable performance. With its finely tuned gravity compensation and real-time USB 2.0 controller, the Lambda.7 provides exceptional haptic transparency and performance. The device is available in both left- and right-hand configurations, suitable for bimanual workstation consoles. Developers can utilize the powerful SDKs offered by Force Dimension for versatile application development in either haptics or robotics modes, supporting multi-threaded and multi-device programming across various platforms.
The lambda.7 is the most recent addition to the Force Dimension family of haptic devices. Introducing a larger base compared to the sigma.7, this device also offers seven active degrees of freedom in translation, rotation, and grasping.
The new device has been specifically designed for OEM applications and can be easily customized for integration in surgical consoles. The new wrist also provides three active degrees of freedom with the last degree being the role angle. This new configuration design of the wrist joints facilitates the integration with surgical robot systems.
Finely tuned to display perfect gravity compensation, the force-and-torque-feedback end-effector offers extraordinary haptic performance, enabling instinctive interaction with complex haptic applications.
The lambda.7 device is available in left- and right-hand configuration and is designed for integration in bimanual workstation consoles.
