HPA is a powerful reducing agent with a wide variety of uses including:
Pharmaceutical: as a stimulant in API production
Industrial: as a wetting, dispersing, or emulsifying agent in electroplating, as a reducing agent, an antioxidant, as a decolorizing and color stabilization agent, as a neutralizing monobasic acid, and as a polymerization (polycondensation) catalyst
Textiles: as a bleaching agent, and for producing hypophosphite salts used in synthetic fibers as wetting, dispersing, emulsifying and anti-static agents
