FCI LacriJet - Monocanalicular Nasolacrimal Intubation Device
LacriJet is a cutting-edge solution introduced by FCI for effective management of epiphora, congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction, and canalicular lacerations. This innovative device is designed to optimize surgical efficiency, minimizing both the intubation and removal phases. At the core of LacriJet is a single-use injector comprising a preloaded silicone tube encased in a metallic guide, allowing for swift insertion into the nasolacrimal duct. Post-insertion, the device leverages a retraction mechanism that releases the silicone intubation, elegantly securing it at the punctum with a fixation head. Its distinctive design negates the need for nasal retrieval, knots, or sutures. The 15 mm and 20 mm variants are specifically tailored for canalicular laceration repair, mitigating the risk of obstruction from scar tissue. LacriJet's sterile configuration includes a 3 mm plug collarette, streamlining the procedural requirements in oculoplastic surgery.
LacriJet® is FCI’s latest and exclusive preloaded and self-retaining monocanalicular nasolacrimal intubation indicated for epiphora, congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction, and canalicular laceration. It consists of a single use injector handpiece into which a silicone tube is preloaded inside a metallic guide. LacriJet® has been specifically designed to reduce operating time in both the intubation phase and the removal of the device.
LacriJet® is first introduced into the nasolacrimal duct. Once in position, the sliding piston is retracted and the silicone intubation is released. It is maintained in place at the punctum by a plug-like fixation head. No nasal retrieval, knots or sutures are needed.
The 15 mm and 20 mm LacriJet® have been specifically designed for canalicular laceration repair to prevent future canalicular obstruction due to scar tissue formation.
