Labeo Technologies - Mouse Head Fixation System for Precise Behavioral Studies
The Mouse Head Fixation System by LabeoTech is an advanced tool designed to provide stability during behavioral experiments involving mice. It ensures precision in neuroimaging and electrophysiological studies by securely holding the mouse's head, thus minimizing movement and stress. The system boasts an ergonomic design, featuring adjustable clamps and a 40 mm diameter acrylic tube that safely contains the animal's body. It mounts onto a 150 x 150 mm metric breadboard with M6 taps, compatible with various experimental setups. The system's intuitive head bar design offers a secure fit, allowing researchers to achieve consistent results by reducing variability in movement. Tailored for awake mice, the system includes vertical travel adjustments to enhance comfort and can integrate with other behavioral and sensory equipment. Its ease of use and effective immobilization create a controlled environment for accurate data collection, ensuring high reliability and confidence in experimental outcomes in modern neuroscience research.- 10 mm vertical travel to optimize animal comfort
- Designed for awake mice
- Compatible with our 25 mm headbars available here.
- 40 mm acrylic tube
- Comes on a 150 x 150 mm metric breadboard (M6 taps)
- Can be combined with our behavioral camera to record the animal’s paws, whiskers, or pupil while its head is fixed.
This ergonomic mouse head-fixation system keeps the animal comfortable and provides exceptional stability for two-photon imaging, OCT, and with our OiS200 modular optical imaging system. Simple thumb screws allow you to release or secure the animal in seconds with our custom titanium bars available here. Additionally, the fixation system lets you adjust the body height to relieve pressure on the spine and neck based on the age and size of the mouse. The mouse head-fixation system comes with a 40 mm diameter transparent acrylic tube to contain the body. The headrest mounts directly onto a 150 x 150 mm metric breadboard (M6 taps) and securely attaches to any existing system. You can also mount behavioral or sensory equipment on the same breadboard, saving space and time during experimental setup.
Locking the mouse’s head into the slots is a simple process that significantly enhances the efficiency of research procedures. The intuitive head bar design ensures a secure fit, minimizing discomfort for the animal while reducing stress and movement. This improved stability allows researchers to conduct experiments with greater precision and consistency, ultimately leading to more reliable results. The ease of use and effective immobilization provided by the system contribute to a more controlled environment, fostering increased confidence in experimental outcomes and reducing animal stress.
