It all started from a dream

Thomas Schuessler explains his vision for THORASYS and how the idea was conceived.

“I always hoped that, someday, I would walk into a random hospital or clinic and see technology that I helped design and develop. I wanted this technology to help doctors and healthcare professionals and, ultimately, contribute to patients feeling better. THORASYS is my opportunity to pursue that dream.

Some of the most difficult moments in my professional life have been visits to hospitals and doctor`s offices where I have seen children only a few weeks old with severe asthma or patients with late-stage COPD. Lung disease is not sufficiently recognized in our society, and many people are not aware of how debilitating and deadly these diseases can be. But, it is extremely rewarding to know that our work will help medical science to better understand, diagnose, and monitor these diseases. There are hundreds of millions of people suffering from lung disease worldwide, and I believe that our products can help improve their quality of life.”
