The Evac Sheet must be placed in between the mattress and the bed. `Fasten the safety straps around the patient. The safety straps firmly secure the patient during evacuation. `Grasp the handle at the foot of the bed and turn the mattress around 90. Slide patient down on the floor and pull the patientto the gathering point. Keeps your back straight while pulling the patient to the safety. Throughout the evacuation process patient should be pulled with the feet first both when on floor and going down the stairs to minimize the risk of injury to the patient. The long handles on both end of the mattress allow the personnel to holda healthy posture reducing the risk of back injuries while evacuating the patient. The side handles help the personnel to lift the mattress and move it horizontally.
