Peninsula Labs Established
Peninsula Labs was established in Belmont, CA as a small peptide-based research lab. Dr. Jaw-Kang Chang co-founded and headed the research department for 17 years.

Phoenix Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Established
Moving on from Peninsula Labs. Dr. Jaw-Kang Chang and Eng Tau decided to start their own company which they called Phoenix Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

August 2002
Phoenix Biotech (Beijing) Co., Ltd. Established
Shortly thereafter, we opened another branch in China to better serve the Chinese research community.

INSL3 Linked to Gender Differentiation
Our RIA kit was used to discover a novel gender-specific circulating hormone of testis origin (Foresta et al.)

January 2007
Global Headquarters Moved
With business expanding, a new larger facility was required. Headquarters was therefore moved to its current location in Burlingame. CAUSA.

August 2008
Phoenix Fiance SAS Established
New products and increased business allowed us to create another branch in Europe, this was specific for institutions and organisations in France.

November 2011
ISO 9001 Certification
Thanks to our focus on quality product management, we were able to acquire ISO 9001 certification. Our strict internal processes ensure that customers receive consistent, high quality products and services.

June 2013
Phoenixin Discovered
With our extensive in-house research, we were able to predict the possibility of a peptide, which we named Phoenixin. This predicted peptide could be localized in rat brain, heart and lung tissue. Later publications found links between Phoenixin and reproduction, anxiety, and memory.

August 2014
CE Mark Certification
We were very excited to receive CE-markings on a variety of our ELISA kits. This proved compliance with new European Union (EU) regulations.
