Sono-Instrument - Carpal Tunnel (CT) for Minimally Invasive Surgery
The Carpal Tunnel Sono-Instrument offers an advanced approach to treating carpal tunnel syndrome through a minimally invasive percutaneous procedure. Utilizing ultrasound guidance, this technique enables the release of the transverse carpal ligament without requiring skin incisions, stitches, or dressings, thereby minimizing trauma to surrounding tissues. The instrument is part of a single-use sterile kit, including a probe specifically designed for effective tissue dissection and assessment of procedural completeness. The instrument's cutting edge ensures safe and precise release of target structures, aided by its echogenic lateral flanges for enhanced visibility under sonography. Another notable design feature is its 1.5mm diameter rod, which is compatible with standard 14 Gauge IV catheter access. Intended exclusively for use by skilled surgeons under sterile conditions, the device bypasses the need for open surgery in most cases. Extensive training and experience in hand anatomy, previously acquired through workshops or observation, are critical for successful application.
