Heraeus - Model heracure 3D -Synthetic Calcium Phosphate Bone Substitute Scaffolds
heracure 3D is a pioneering synthetic bone substitute designed using advanced 3D printing technology, aimed at enhancing bone healing for non-load-bearing defects. This material is characterized by its synthetic, porous, and biocompatible nature, closely mimicking natural bone in both composition and structure. Made from resorbable calcium phosphate, heracure 3D forms microcrystalline hydroxyapatite, ensuring biocompatibility and efficient integration as it gradually resorbs and is replaced by endogenous bone. Its interconnected pore system facilitates osteoconduction, tissue ingrowth, and osteointegration, providing structural stability while being compatible with additional autologous or allogeneic materials. The product supports various clinical applications, including metaphyseal defect fractures and osteotomy, offering ready-to-use solutions in diverse shapes and sizes without requiring additional preparation.
heracure 3D is intended for filling non-infected and non-load-bearing bone defects or for the filling of bone defects that have been sufficiently stabilized by means of suitable measures.
The particular application areas of heracure 3D are:
- Metaphyseal defect fractures, e.g. fractures of the tibia, radius and humerus
- Osteotomy in various bones, e.g. tibia, femur, humerus, radius, metatarsals
- Bone defects after removal or replacement of osteosynthesis implants
- Advanced Pore Structure: three-dimensionally interconnected pore system, facilitating optimal osteoconduction, tissue ingrowth and osteointegration
- Bone-like Composition: made from calcium phosphate which forms microcrystalline hydroxyapatite which is similar to that of natural bone, resulting in excellent biocompatibility
- Resorbability: is resorbed by cell-mediated processes and replaced by endogenous bone over time, ensuring effective integration into the patient’s bone structure
- Ready-to-Use: available in multiple shapes and sizes to meet diverse clinical needs - immediately and without the need for preparation
- Structural Support: can support the stabilization of bone defects due to its bone-like mechanical strength
- Compatibility with Other Materials: can be combined with autologous or allogeneic materials, such as blood, blood-based products, bone marrow aspirate, or autologous cancellous bone, to enhance healing
The world's first Resorbable Calcium Phosphate based Scaffold based on a unique 3D Printing Technology
heracure 3D is a synthetic, porous, biocompatible, osteoconductive and bioresorbable bone substitute material to support the bone healing process. It is used for filling or reconstructing of non-load-bearing bone defects or for filling of bone defects, which are sufficiently stabilized by appropriate means. The exceptional support of heracure 3D in bone healing results from the patented 3D printing approach using heracure one calcium phosphate based paste - and low temperature processing.
