VASCADE VCS is a fully integrated, extravascular, bioabsorbable femoral access closure system that is easy to use, leaves no permanent components behind, and has demonstrated safety and efficacy in a wide range of patients. The system combines Cardiva’s proven proprietary collapsible disc technology and a thrombogenic resorbable collagen patch in an integrated design. VASCADE provides tamponade as a result of rapid expansion of collagen in presence of fluid.3,4 Approximately 13x expansion in collagen patch ensures tissue tract is sufficiently filled and provides mechanical hemostasis.
Benefits of Physiological Hemostasis
VASCADE accelerates coagulation by leveraging natural thrombogenic properties of collagen to enhance coagulation. In vitro testing demonstrates VASCADE collagen decreases clotting time in both heparinized and non-heparinized blood as compared against control (porcine blood).
