The mining industry is one of the most enduring and dominant forms of resource development in our modern history. The industry itself is fraught with a number of challenges that oftentimes place the mine’s ability to operate in jeopardy. These risks include a poor social license to operate, health and environmental effects of the operation, damaged reputational capital, poor stakeholder relations, lack of sustainability reporting and Corporate Social Responsibility Efforts.
