Ship Security Officer (SSO)
Course AimThis Det Norske Veritas and UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency approved training programme provides ship’s officers with the knowledge and skills to carry out their duties as a designated Ship Security Officer (SSO), in accordance with the International Ship and Port Facility (ISPS) Code.
The course covers:
Implementation and maintenance of a Ship Security Plan
Managing and monitoring ship’s security systems and processes
Training and motivating crew to perform security duties
Who Should Attend
Ship’s officers who have been, or are likely to be, appointed as Ship Security Officers under the ISPS Code; ex-armed forces personnel and those with a maritime background looking to work in ship security.
