Antibiotics used in hospitals are often not efficient against the more and more frequent multi-resistant bacteria and infections, such as Legionella, which causes death one in every four cases. Since the installation of REDO in 2016, the 400-bed clinical hospital of the University of Pécs has not experienced any Legionella-infection cases. Subsequently, all Hungarian public hospitals were equipped with REDO systems in 2019.

The REDO-purification process immediately kills all harmful microorganisms, even the more resistant ones, such as Pseudomonas and Legionella, against which other systems might be inefficient.
