Trilite - Ion Exchange Resin for Catalyst - Manufacturing, Other
Ion exchange resins used as catalysts in various reactions can convert batch processes to continuous processes and maximize the final product yield based on high conversion rates.
TRILITE® ion exchange resins for catalyst are optimized for use as catalysts by improving existing resins and are characterized by excellent porosity and ionic conversion rates. By maximizing the contact area and the treatment solution, they enable fast reaction rates, and excellent internal diffusion rates of the ion exchange resin allows for high reaction efficiency even in non-polar solvents.
In addition, they have excellent physical and chemical strength, particularly with regard to the elasticity of the polymer matrix. This means excellent durability against sudden volume changes and ultimately guarantees a long service life.
- Advantages
- It is easily separable in the reaction system and allows for continuous reactions using a column reactor,
- making it economical.
- Regeneration or reconcentration is not necessary, and the reaction selectivity is high with low by-products.
- Low corrosiveness to the equipment makes material selection easy.
- Disadvantages
-
Compared to inorganic catalysts, it has lower thermal stability and slower reaction rates when the reaction materials are polymers.
