Possibility of application of LCA methodology in conditions of small and medium enterprise

The report deals with application of LCA in small and medium enterprise, without using special software and without the need of additional investments into LCA study.

LCA is studying environmental aspects and actual and potential impacts of product within its life cycle. On the basis of analysed methodology concept materials the proposal of model methodology for life cycle impact assessment of gravel exploitation technology from surface water and its processing was prepared. Special attention is given to the proposal of methodology procedure using critical volume method because of its wide application in conditions of lack of good quality data about environment state and quality and lack of authorised procedures for assessing and evaluating the environment pollution.

The goal of LCA was to prepare descriptive LCA study for the most significant environment intervention chosen. Proposed methodology procedure was applied to environment intervention – the discharge of waste water from scrubbing gravel process into the surface water. The impact calculation was made using the critical volume method.
