The C-Chip disposable hemocytometer is used for manual cell counting. In research settings, it helps to determine cell concentration prior to cell passage, or to assess cell viability following drug treatment; cell counting solution is essential. Obtaining accurate cell counts can be critical when seeding cells for propagation and experimentation.

Manual microscopic cell counting in a Fuchs-Rosenthal (FR) chamber has been the gold standard for quantification of leukocytes in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). An excellent correlation between cell counts obtained with the C-Chip chamber and FR chamber was observed. Using a disposable C-Chip hemacytometer for semen analysis allows for clear visualization of the sperm that simply wasn`t possible before. C-Chip DHC-S02 is a phase type hemacytometer (using phase contrast microscopy). Light microscopy could also be used for sperm counting, magnification x 200~400.
