RETImap Human - Electrophysiological Test Unit
Simultaneous infrared laser monitoring during electrophysiological function testing with Roland RETImap. New for animal and human topography and function in the same time and area. An ERG, PERG, PVEP or mfERG stimulus (RETIport-scan) and a new confocal Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope (920 nm) RC SLO-50 are connected to record ERGs and VEPs projected by a small traditional CRT-stimulus source. This allows topographic retinal function recordings with the technique of monitor stimulation combined with a laser fundus imaging system. This method is necessary in cases where the retinal position of the stimulus array is not centered onto the fovea, deviates due to fixation problems or for all other cases you want to be sure to stimulate the right area on the retina.

hereditary retinopathies – inflammatory eye diseases – metabolic disorders – vitamin A deficiency – impaired night vision. Dear Doctor, is my night vision normal? This question often put to ophthalmologists is not an easy one to answer, as “night vision problems” may originate both from dazzling or contrast vision defects of optical or neuronal origin. To detect “night vision problems”, all these factors have to be checked to ensure that the patient will be able to recognize e.g. a person who is dressed in dark clothes and crosses the street. But in order to really respond to this patients’ question, it is necessary to determine the absolute sensitivity for light. This function is measured by a dark adaptation curve over a period of about 30 minutes. There is no other examination which allows to diagnose absolute light sensitivity.

Especially for examinations of animals, Roland Consult provides their customers with some tools. The Mouse Table is a heatable examination table for small animals. It is placed in front of a Roland Consult Ganzfeld and has two free moveable electrode holders. After the animal and the electrodes are placed, the table can be slided into the Ganzfeld.
