BIO Lenses
Volk - Model 20D - Binocular Indirect Ophthalmoscopy (BIO) Lens
Perhaps the most recognized lens around the world, the Volk 20D is the lens that started the legacy of double aspheric lens design for BIO and is still considered as a gold standard. The contributing factors for this are the perfect balance of field of view and magnification of the 20D. The working distance of 50 mm also makes lens manipulation a comfortable experience for the examiner. This lens is perfect for general diagnosis of patients with a 3x magnification and field of view that allows visualization up to the mid peripheral region. The dynamic examination with the appropriate eye movements by the patients allows viewing of the peripheral retina as well as detailed examination by BIO in the primary position provides a comprehensive estimate of retinal health. Thus, this lens is a great choice both as a first line of diagnosis as well as a high level central retinal examination.
Volk - Model 28D - Binocular Indirect Ophthalmoscopy (BIO) Lens
With a wide field of view, this lens offers visualization past the mid peripheral region up to the equator and the peripheral retina upon dynamic examination. The optical design and power of this lens makes it a great choice when working with patients that have a small pupil or do not respond well to dilation such as infants or older populations. The small profile as well as a closer working distance make enable the doctor to easily manipulate the lens for a quick examination, especially with patients who may not remain still for a long time. Most widely used for examination and assessment of Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) and peripheral retinal defects such as tears and detachments.
Slit Lamp Lenses
Volk - Model 90D - Slit Lamp Lenses
The Volk 90D is the most widely known fundoscopy lens and is to date considered the gold standard in exam rooms across the world. The small profile of the 90D coupled with its optical profile makes it a great first lens. This lens is a perfect choice for general examination and retinal imaging. This lens can be used to get through small pupils for patients who do not prefer or accommodate dilation and as a result is also a popular choice for undilated retinal exams.
Volk - Model 78D - Slit Lamp Lenses
The is an ideal lens for doctors who regularly cater to populations prone to glaucoma and other posterior pole abnormalities. The double aspheric design and field of view offered by a 78D offers clear and large views of the central mid-retinal regions. This lens offers a high magnification without cutting down too drastically on the field of view. This lens is a popular choice as a general diagnosis lens among doctors who prefer a larger ring size than the more common and smaller profile of the 90D. Dilation is required to obtain optimum retinal imaging with the 78D.
Gonio Lenses
Volk - Model G-3 - Gonio Lenses
3-Mirror, All-Glass Design; 60° mirror provides a view of the iridocorneal angle. 66° mirror provides a retinal image from the equator to the ora serrata. 76° mirror provides a view of the mid-peripheral/peripheral retina. Available in two formats: flanged (recommended for laser trabeculoplasty) and no flanged (recommended for routine gonioscopy). This three mirror Goldman-style lens equipped with unbeatable Volk optics is a must have for every Glaucoma specialist.
Anterior Laser Lenses
Volk - Model Rapid SLT - Anterior Laser Lenses
The Rapid SLT is equipped with four totally internal reflective surfaces that provide high-detail views of all four quadrants of the angle structures. Thus, SLT procedure time is reduced in half as the need to rotate the lens on the patient’s eye is drastically minimized thus enhancing patient comfort. The contact surface is designed to provide patient comfort while maintaining the required control and stability of the lens over the ocular surface. The size of the lens allows manipulation within the orbit as well as between the laser and the patient’s eye, enhancing the doctor’s ease-of-use.
Volk - Model SLT - Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty
This lens is a classic one mirror design lens that provides a large, clear view of the angle structures for performing SLT procedures to lower intraocular pressure in patients with ocular hypertension and glaucoma. This lens is designed for compatibility when used with a frequency doubled Q switched Nd:YAG laser. The lens has to be rotated gently on the patient’s eye to aim the laser at the various sections of iridocorneal angle. The 1.0x magnification of this lens helps maintain the laser spot size and density during laser delivery.
Retina Laser Lenses
Volk Super Quad - Model 160 - Retina Laser Lenses
Experience wide field, distortion-free visualization of the retina from the nerve head and macula, up to the ora serrata, designed for detection and treatment of retinal abnormalities like peripheral retinal tears, peripheral retinal detachments, giant retinal tears etc. The 30 mm lens surface offers a large, clear image of the retina for accurate and easy placement of the laser spot. The contact surface is designed carefully to provide optimum stability on the patient’s cornea while ensuring patient comfort.
Volk - Model H-R Wide Field - Retina Laser Lenses
A part of our H-R series of laser lenses, the H-R wide field provides the widest field of view spanning the retinal from the posterior pole all the way out to the ora serrata. This lens is perfect for diagnosis and treatment of peripheral and far peripheral retinal defects such as peripheral retinal tears and retinal detachments. The small lens body with an 24.8 mm lens ring and 21.7 mm lens height makes it a nimble lens, leaving the doctor ample space between the patient’s eye and the laser for focusing and manipulation.
