HUMIPAK is a moisture retention pouch for post-operative instrument handling, designed to inhibit hydrophobic proteins adhering to surgical instruments by creating a moist environment. The idea of HUMIPAK originated from discussions with CSSD technicians experiencing difficulties in cleaning of post operative instruments. The Westfield Medical team brought the challenges the technicians faced back to the brainstorm table and our team of engineers got to work. After several trials HUMIPAK was developed.

The foil pouches are opaque sterilisation pouches, incorporating an Aluminium layer for high performance barrier applications. Foil pouches can be peelable, offering clean peel characteristics, or welded with a tear nick to facilitate opening.

Direct Seal paper is recommended when high tear/puncture resistance is not so critical. Direct seal papers are suitable for ETO, Irradiation and Steam sterilisation.

Coated paper is recommended when fibre free peels are required and/or when sealing to ridged or semi-ridged trays. Coated papers are suitable for ETO and Irradiation sterilisation. See below for stock material options and standard combinations for top and bottoms webs.
